Practice makes better and happy new year

Either when working on the computer making images for my second life avatar or working with my hands in either knitting or crocheting with each attempt at either the outcome gets better and I learn something new that helps improve my skills. These improvements are shown by knitting saved from lifelines (a section on string or yarn that holds a completed row that was last correct or an image effect with shadows making the image look more like the real thing.

My new years resolutions or goals:
SL:
more outfits, better looking effects, practice more
Knitting/crocheting:
Finish what is on my needles and get new projects started like knitting my first sweater.

Computer issues

Well it is has a bit of time, I have been having computer issues on and off, but am still working with clothing ideas. Though at this time mainly in sketchbooks, hopefully I will have a month or two without any computer issues so that maybe I can get somethings done in a digital department. I have been and will continue to look in both RL and SL for my own clothing inspiration. Will update as things get better maybe have some pics uploaded.

Well, I've been working on new clothes to show off in SL, though I've been blocked with the lack of L$, so when I do get the new funds for uploading new clothes I will be taking a break from this blog. I will be still in SL, and going to the test server to try out the clothes that I make. But at this time nothing will be uploaded into SL itself. Don't worry I am not stopping on it, not yet.

Working on clothes for SL is something that has been very fun and I hope to continue it and as I do so get better and better one of the clothes that I've been working on is a pair of jeans, but I've yet to get the seams right on it, though it is starting to look better at least in the template. Though I do love the concept on it and the look on the fabric itself looks close to the real thing, for the exception again of the seams I tried doing this on Photo shop and I might have to look into doing the seams by hand. I am going to keep working on making the seams in photo shop for a bit more since they look okay so far in the template getting a test template into SL will be the true test. I've also been trying to learn how to make lace and how to work to make it look realistic or at least close to realistic. So far I've only found a way to work with images of lace, but since I want to have these clothes be made entirely. It is something that I have yet to master but I hope to do so as time goes by. Got no pictures to post at this time, but in April I hope to have some new ones ready to go. I believe I might have also found a way to do shadows that if it continue to look good on the rest of the tops then I might have a shadow template on my clothes, at least for some of them.

Well here are some new things that I recently made and uploaded into SL I hope you like. Each of these shirts are in a variety of colors, I've only selected a few colors to show at this time. The leaf pattern on the green shirt below is one that was hand drawn.

I'm Solest Rayna and welcome to my blog. I've been in SL for about over a year now and have explored the world and met many people in SL. But now I have started making some of my own clothes and would like to share them. These are just a few examples and I hope with practice that I might open a store. These clothes are hand drawn and then later finished with AVPainter and Photoshop. Here are a few shirts that I will have available if and when I open up Sol Ray Boutique.

Now before I sign off I want to talk about a nice skins by Kely Streeter her store is called OM Skins, I find her skins wonderful and want to share them with you. She has improved her skins so much since I've first seen them, and yes they where wonderful then also. Her skins are realistic, hand drawn, and not one are the same. So check out her reopening of her store. Oh and another thing they are affordable.
